Amidst the ever-growing demand for safer motorcycle riding experiences, Finnish motorcycle manufacturer Verge has introduced an innovative electric bike, the TS Ultra. With the primary goal of improving rider safety, this cutting-edge motorcycle is equipped with a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI)-powered radar and camera system, which combines the data from six cameras and front/rear radars.
To further enhance safety measures, Verge has integrated a machine learning system into the bike’s core, enabling it to adapt the safety assistance systems based on the behavior and preferences of the rider. The entire system is controlled through Verge’s intelligently designed “Starmatter” dash display, which offers over-the-air updates and activates a rear-view camera when indicators are activated, preventing potential collisions.
In addition to the advanced safety features, the TS Ultra also boasts traction control and an anti-lock braking system, ensuring optimal control in various road conditions. The electric motor, conveniently mounted in the rear wheel hub, generates an impressive 150kW of power and 1200Nm of torque, enabling the TS Ultra to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 2.5 seconds, with a top speed of 200km/h.
To optimize the bike’s center of gravity, Verge engineers have strategically placed the battery as low as possible within the frame. While this placement achieves a futuristic aesthetic, it does come with the drawback of additional weight hanging off the rear axle.
Thanks to a 21.8kWh battery, the TS Ultra offers a range of up to 375km on a single charge, making it suitable for long-distance rides. Furthermore, the bike features a quick charging system, capable of restoring 80% charge in just 25 minutes through a CCS charging port.
The Verge TS Ultra is scheduled to be available in the US market in the fourth quarter of 2024, with a starting price of $44,900. With its innovative safety features and impressive performance capabilities, the TS Ultra is expected to redefine the riding experience for motorcycle enthusiasts, offering a seamless blend of technology and adrenaline.
