The Life2Vec algorithm, while similar to ChatGPT in operation, focuses on factors such as birth, education, and work schedules to analyze how they impact life events. By studying anonymized data from millions of individuals, the algorithm can predict outcomes like mortality with an accuracy rate of 78% and relocation decisions with 73% accuracy.
Nevertheless, the potential of AI in predicting life events also comes with challenges. Concerns have been raised about discrimination and unfair practices that may arise if businesses, like insurance companies, use these algorithms to make decisions affecting individuals’ access to services or financial opportunities.
To address these concerns, transparency and public dialogue on the ethical use of AI algorithms are crucial. Experts stress the importance of understanding the limitations of such technology and approaching predictions with caution, especially when it comes to online tools that claim to forecast one’s lifespan.
