XMG Unveils New Thin & Light Laptop with Intel’s Meteor Lake CPUs

XMG, a leading laptop manufacturer, has generated considerable buzz at this year’s CES with its latest announcements. While the company is set to release its 14th Gen Raptor Lake-HX enthusiast designs, it has also previewed an upcoming thin and light laptop model featuring Intel’s highly anticipated Core Ultra “Meteor Lake” CPUs.

The new XMG laptop will boast a sleek 15.3″ design with a 16:10 aspect ratio, offering a spacious edge-to-edge keyboard and a convenient 4-row numpad. Externally, the laptop showcases a seamless aesthetic and features two USB Type-A ports, a USB4 port, and an HDMI 2.1 + Ethernet LAN port at the back. Smartly designed cut-outs at the bottom and exhaust vents on the back help facilitate efficient airflow throughout the chassis.

Internally, the XMG Laptop will house an Intel Core Ultra “Meteor Lake” CPU with a rated power of 45W+. What sets this laptop apart is its dGPU-less design, relying solely on Intel’s integrated Arc Xe-LPG GPU to meet the graphics requirements of users. With its impressive capabilities, this integrated GPU is more than capable of delivering exceptional gaming experiences at 1080p, making it a suitable choice for the majority of users. Interestingly, XMG is also working on a dGPU-less AMD Ryzen laptop, showcasing its commitment to providing users with various options.

The XMG laptop will support an NPU and is equipped with two SO-DIMM slots for DDR5 memory. The cooling solution encompasses a dual-fan and dual heatpipe design, ensuring efficient heat dissipation. For storage, users will have access to two NVMe slots for SSD storage. The laptop is powered by an 80Wh battery and weighs a mere 1.5kg, making it highly portable.

Although XMG has not yet disclosed the pricing or availability of this model, it is expected to hit the retail market in the first half of 2024. Additionally, XMG has plans to introduce more refreshes and laptops according to their 2024 roadmap. The company is also working on a new laptop design for Intel’s next-gen CPUs, set to launch in late 2024. While the exact CPU remains undisclosed, experts speculate that it may utilize Intel’s Arrow Lake or Lunar Lake CPUs, both scheduled for release in the second half of 2024. This indicates that laptop manufacturers are already preparing for the future and promising an exciting year ahead for Intel CPUs.
