Intel Launches New CPUs for Gaming Laptops and Thin & Light Designs

Intel has recently announced its latest line of CPUs, targeting both high-end gaming laptops and thin and light designs. The 14th Gen Raptor Lake-HX Refresh laptop CPU lineup is focused on delivering improved performance and enhanced features to cater to the demands of gamers and users in need of lightweight and portable devices.

The Raptor Lake-HX Refresh CPUs boast faster clocks and refined I/O support, offering a significant performance uplift compared to their predecessors. These CPUs are specifically designed to meet the needs of high-end gamers, with certain SKUs providing even more performance improvements.

Key features of the Raptor Lake-HX CPUs include up to 5.8 GHz turbo frequency, delivering up to 17% better gaming performance and up to 51% faster multitasking performance compared to the previous generation. The i9-14900HX processors offer up to 24 cores and 32 threads, while the i7-14700HX features 20 cores and 28 threads, including 50% more E-cores. These CPUs also support up to 192GB of DDR5-5600 memory and come with overclocking capabilities.

In addition, Intel has introduced Thunderbolt 5 technology, providing 80 Gbps of bi-directional bandwidth and support for up to 120 Gbps with a bandwidth boost. This allows for seamless connectivity and enhances display and data experiences. The CPUs also offer integrated Intel Wi-Fi 6E and Intel Wi-Fi 7 for high-speed wireless connectivity.

On the other hand, Intel’s Core Series 1 “Raptor Lake” CPUs are designed for thin and light devices. The Core 7 Processor 150U, Core 5 Processor 120U, and Core 3 Processor 100U provide power-efficient performance for users on the go. These CPUs are not to be confused with the upcoming Meteor Lake processors, as they belong to the non-Ultra “Raptor Lake Refresh SKUs” lineup.

With these new CPUs, Intel aims to cater to the diverse needs of laptop users, whether it be high-performance gaming or portability without compromising on power. The improved clock speeds, enhanced connectivity options, and increased core counts make these CPUs a compelling choice for users looking for cutting-edge technology and seamless performance.
