AMD Introduces Affordable Ryzen 7 Processors for Gamers

AMD is continuing its commitment to the AM4 platform by offering more value to gamers with the release of the Ryzen 7 5700X3D and Ryzen 7 5700 CPUs. These new processors provide affordable options for users of the AM4 platform.

The Ryzen 7 5700X3D is similar to the 5800X3D, featuring 8 cores and 16 threads, but with a lower clock speed of 3.0 GHz base and 4.1 GHz boost. However, it comes with a whopping 100 MB of cache (96 MB L3 + 4 MB L2) and a TDP of 105W. The standout feature of this chip is its price, costing only $249 US, making it a disruptive option for gamers.

Performance-wise, AMD claims up to a 13% increase in performance at 1080p compared to the Intel Core i5-13600K, which retails at the same price. This places the Ryzen 7 5700X3D on par with the Core i9-13900K.

The Ryzen 7 5700 is the most affordable 8-core Zen 3 CPU in the lineup, priced at $175 US. It features 8 cores, 16 threads, 20 MB of cache, and a clock speed of 3.7 GHz base and 4.6 GHz boost. With a TDP of 65W, it also comes bundled with an AMD Wraith Spire cooler.

In terms of gaming performance, the Ryzen 7 5700 competes with the Core i5-12400F but at a slightly higher price. However, the advantage of sticking with the AM4 platform is that users won’t need to upgrade to a whole new platform later this year.

Both the Ryzen 7 5700X3D and Ryzen 7 5700 CPUs will be available for retail purchase on January 31st. AMD also offers options for those interested in the AM5 platform with the Ryzen 8000G APUs, while the AM4 platform will receive an APU upgrade with the Ryzen 5000GT series.

Overall, these new processors from AMD provide budget-friendly options for gamers who want to maximize their gaming experience without breaking the bank.
