Microsoft Launches AI Odyssey Initiative to Empower 100,000 Developers in India

Microsoft is taking a major step in bolstering India’s AI capabilities with the launch of the AI Odyssey initiative. With a bold goal of skilling 100,000 developers, this program aims to equip participants with the latest AI technologies and tools. The primary objective of the Microsoft AI Odyssey program is to provide a comprehensive learning experience that enables developers to acquire and showcase relevant AI skills for executing critical projects aligned with business goals.

To participate in AI Odyssey, developers in India need to register on aka.ms/AIOdyssey and gain access to the learning modules and resources. Unlike other exclusive programs, the AI Odyssey initiative is open to all AI enthusiasts in India, regardless of their level of experience or background. Participants are required to complete two levels by January 31, 2024, in order to fully make use of the program.

The first level of the program focuses on educating participants on effectively utilizing Azure AI services to create and deploy AI solutions for various scenarios. By completing this level, participants will gain access to invaluable resources such as code samples and guides to master practical AI skills. The second level of the program presents participants with a challenge to showcase their acquired AI skills. Through an online assessment with interactive lab tasks, developers can earn Microsoft Applied Skills credentials, validating their ability to tackle real-world problems using AI.

Completing both levels of challenges also grants participants the chance to win a VIP Pass to attend the Microsoft AI Tour in Bangalore on February 8, 2024. The AI Tour is a groundbreaking event that showcases the transformative impact of generative AI on creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. With keynote sessions, demos, and workshops led by Microsoft experts and partners, developers have the opportunity to learn and network with peers at this exclusive event.

In a statement regarding the initiative, Irina Ghose, Managing Director of Microsoft India, expressed her enthusiasm for India’s tech talent and the potential of AI to drive innovation. She noted that the Microsoft Applied Skills credential would help developers showcase their competence and creativity in highly sought-after AI skills and scenarios. Ghose extended an open invitation to all developers, urging them to join forces and create meaningful AI solutions that would contribute to India’s economy.

This groundbreaking initiative by Microsoft marks a significant milestone in India’s AI journey by equipping developers with the necessary skills to push the boundaries of innovation and contribute to the country’s digital transformation.
