Google Developing Enhanced Paid Version of Bard

Google is reportedly working on an advanced version of its AI chatbot, Bard, in a bid to offer more sophisticated features to users. The upgraded version, known as “Bard Advanced,” will be available through Google One, the company’s subscription service. Powered by Google’s latest language model called Gemini Ultra, Bard Advanced aims to compete with other AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot.

Developer Dylan Roussel first discovered the new version and shared that it will be part of a paid subscription, but users may also have access to a three-month free trial period. Bard Advanced is expected to provide advanced capabilities, such as improved mathematical skills and reasoning abilities, allowing users to explore various topics.

Roussel also uncovered another upcoming feature named Motoko, which might enable users to create their custom bots. However, it is unclear whether these custom bots can be shared or if there will be additional costs associated with accessing this feature. OpenAI took a similar approach last year, allowing GPT Plus subscribers to create and share custom bots.

Developer Bedros Pamboukian hinted at Google’s commitment to providing a more sophisticated AI experience by mentioning an “advanced” tier. Previously, Google introduced Gemini Pro, its large language model targeted at developers and enterprises. The company plans to launch Gemini Ultra, designed for highly complex tasks, in the coming months.

In recent updates, Bard gained the ability to understand and analyze YouTube videos, making it especially useful for content creators. Users can now ask Bard for details about specific videos, particularly helpful for those searching for cooking recipes and similar content. However, this feature is currently available as an opt-in experience and may take some time to roll out to all users.

Google has been actively updating Bard, including making it accessible to teenagers, helping with math equations, generating charts from user-provided data, and improving its email summarization capabilities. With the development of Bard Advanced, Google aims to enhance the AI chatbot’s offerings and provide a more comprehensive and tailored experience to its users.
