Panjab University is gearing up to introduce an upcoming artificial intelligence (AI) programme in partnership with the institution’s Innovative Council and other organizations. The short-term course, organized by the institution’s Northern Region S&T Cluster (PI-RAHI) and Design Innovation Centre, aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of AI and its practical applications.
The programme, scheduled to run from January 15 to January 17, consists of eight sessions divided into four segments. These segments cover various aspects of AI, including awareness and foundation-level knowledge, programming fundamentals, and implementation of AI models to tackle real-world industry problems. The sessions will be conducted from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm, with a fee of Rs 1,000. Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive certificates as a recognition of their achievement.
Panjab University, in collaboration with PI-RAHI, has previously organized numerous AI sessions, highlighting the importance of AI in various sectors. In a recent seminar titled “AI for forensics: Generalizable and safe deep models for fingerprint preprocessing,” the challenges associated with latent fingerprinting were discussed, particularly the issues caused by data uncertainty due to noise in the input.
The PU-IIT Ropar Regional Accelerator for Holistic Innovations (PI-RAHI) is the first regional S&T cluster established by the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor in Chandigarh. The cluster, jointly led by Panjab University and IIT Ropar, operates from the Panjab University campus.
