AMD Unveils Powerful Ryzen 8000G CPUs at CES 2024

AMD has made waves at CES 2024 with the introduction of its latest Ryzen 8000G Series desktop CPUs. These chips, built on the Zen 4 architecture, boast impressive AI capabilities and the most powerful built-in graphics of any platform.

The Ryzen 8000G processors, led by the Ryzen 7 8700G, feature up to eight cores, 16 threads, and 24MB of cache. With the inclusion of the Radeon 700M graphics, the Ryzen 8000G CPUs offer excellent gaming performance, particularly in 1080p gaming, and can be later upgraded to a discrete GPU for higher resolutions.

AMD’s data suggests that the Ryzen 8000G CPUs perform exceptionally well in real-world tests. For example, Cyberpunk 2077 can be run at a smooth 60 frames-per-second, even in low settings, without the need for a discrete graphics card. Games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2 also see a substantial performance boost with AMD’s Fluid Motion Frames feature, which doesn’t require game-specific support.

In addition to the Ryzen 8000G CPUs, AMD has also launched new Ryzen 5000 Series desktop CPUs, which are more affordable options for gamers. These CPUs, such as the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, offer higher on-chip memory to improve performance across complex tasks like gaming and 3D rendering.

The Ryzen 8000G and 5000 series processors are set to start shipping by the end of January. Furthermore, AMD’s AI-capable Ryzen 8040 laptop CPUs have begun appearing in new laptops from brands like ROG Zephyrus and Lenovo.

Overall, AMD’s latest offerings continue to demonstrate the brand’s commitment to delivering high-performance CPUs with built-in graphics capabilities, catering to both gamers and general productivity users.
