It is worth noting that Snapchat’s introduction of these enhanced controls comes just before Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel is set to testify at a Senate hearing on online child sexual exploitation. Spiegel will join chief executives from Meta, X, TikTok, and Discord at the hearing scheduled for January 31, where they will address concerns surrounding child safety in the digital space.
