OpenAI has recently launched the GPT Store and ChatGPT Team, offering new features and options to its users. The GPT Store allows ChatGPT users to discover and share custom chatbot roles known as “GPTs,” providing a platform for finding useful and popular versions of ChatGPT. Prior to the launch of the GPT Store, users could create and share their custom GPTs with others, but there was no centralized repository for browsing and discovering user-designed GPTs on the OpenAI website. With the GPT Store, OpenAI aims to facilitate access to a variety of GPTs by featuring new ones every week.
OpenAI has already listed six notable GPTs available in the store, including AllTrails for hiking trails, Consensus for academic paper search, Code Tutor for coding with Khan Academy, Canva for presentation design, Books for discovering reading material, and CK-12 Flexi for math and science learning.
In addition to the GPT Store, OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Team, a group-based membership program that offers a secure and collaborative workspace for optimizing ChatGPT usage in the workplace. This plan, priced at $25 per user per month (annually billed) or $30 per user per month (monthly billed), is suitable for teams of all sizes. It grants access to various features, such as team management through an admin console, sharing custom GPTs within the team, and access to advanced capabilities of ChatGPT, including GPT-4 and DALL-E 3.
OpenAI has emphasized the potential benefits of using ChatGPT at work, including improving code generation, email composition, and data analysis. However, users are advised to exercise caution and not rely solely on ChatGPT as a factual resource. OpenAI encourages users to bring their own data for analysis and verify the outputs independently.
Moreover, OpenAI plans to share revenue with GPT creators, compensating them based on user engagement with their GPTs. Details regarding the revenue program and payment criteria will be provided by OpenAI in the first quarter of 2024.
