Nvidia RTX Super Graphics Cards Face Potential Supply Issues

A recent YouTube leaker, Moore’s Law is Dead (MLID), has raised concerns about the availability of Nvidia’s new RTX Super graphics cards. According to MLID’s sources, Nvidia’s production levels for these GPUs might be lower than expected, potentially leading to limited stock when the cards are released.

One of MLID’s sources, a global distributor, claims that Nvidia will only produce a third of the usual quantity for these graphics cards. This means that consumers may have difficulty finding stock when they go on sale. Another source, who works at a major retailer, agrees that the launch is likely to be “light” and expects the RTX 4070 Ti Super and RTX 4080 Super models to have limited availability.

Even the RTX 4070 Super, which will have a larger production volume, is expected to have only “decent” availability. Furthermore, it is anticipated that restocking of these graphics cards after the initial launch will be slow.

These reports align with previous speculation about Nvidia’s GeForce production and the phasing out of older models to make way for the new RTX Super refreshes. It is believed that Nvidia is pacing the release of the 4070 Ti Super and 4080 Super to allow for the sale of remaining stock of the original versions.

MLID suggests that better supply for these Super refreshes may not be available until March 2024 or later. However, it is speculated that there may be significant stock of the RTX 4070 Ti to sell.

While the new RTX Super cards offer competitive pricing, those looking to purchase them may face challenges securing their desired model, at least for the first couple of months after launch. The RTX 4070 Super is expected to have better inventory availability, depending on its popularity.

On a positive note, MLID also mentioned that AMD’s recently revealed Radeon RX 7600 XT is expected to have ample stock levels at launch, along with sufficient resupply. This GPU may be a strong contender for the best cheap graphics card category.

In conclusion, potential supply issues may impact the availability of Nvidia’s new RTX Super graphics cards, making it difficult for consumers to purchase them upon release.
