MSI Unveils Advanced AI-Powered Gaming Monitor at CES 2024

MSI has showcased its latest innovation at CES 2024 with the upcoming MEG 321URX QD-OLED display, which integrates artificial intelligence (AI) technology into gaming monitors. This cutting-edge monitor features an onboard AI accelerator called SkySight, which can detect enemies in the popular game League of Legends and provide users with a competitive advantage by displaying their location on the screen.

Unlike traditional AI processing that relies on computer software and operating systems, the MEG 321URX’s AI processing and image generation are performed directly on the monitor’s own hardware, making it undetectable to external devices. The SkySight AI analyzes the on-screen mini-map in League of Legends to identify enemy positions, offering players a considerable advantage in gameplay.

In addition to enemy detection, the MEG 321URX’s AI also tracks players’ health status in the game and illuminates an RGB LED light bar known as the Spectrum Bar, located at the bottom of the monitor’s bezel, to correspond with the in-game health bar. This innovative feature enhances the gaming experience by providing players with visual cues that mirror their in-game performance.

While League of Legends players will benefit directly from the AI capabilities of the MEG 321URX, MSI has also developed a PC application that allows users to train the monitor to recognize health bars, enemies, and other on-screen elements in any game they choose. This versatility expands the monitor’s appeal to a wider audience, promising endless possibilities in various gaming scenarios.

Beyond its AI capabilities, the MEG 321URX offers impressive specifications that cater to gamers’ needs. The 32-inch, non-curved 4K screen boasts a QD-OLED panel that delivers vibrant colors and a stunning contrast ratio of 1500000:1. The display supports Display HDR 400 and operates at an incredible 240 Hz, ensuring tear-free gaming with refresh rates of up to 240 fps at 4K resolution. With a lightning-fast response time of 0.03 ms, VESA ClearMR 13000 anti-blur certification, and a range of connectivity options including HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, and USB-C with 90W power delivery, the MEG 321URX offers a comprehensive package for competitive gamers.

Furthermore, MSI has incorporated OLED Care 2.0 technology into the monitor design to prevent screen burn-in. This feature subtly adjusts the brightness of static on-screen elements, reducing the risk of permanent image retention, a concern among users of OLED displays.

Although MSI has not disclosed pricing details, the company plans to release the MEG 321URX QD-OLED monitor in the spring of 2024, potentially coinciding with Computex 2024. As more information becomes available, users eagerly await further insights into the AI features and capabilities of this innovative gaming monitor.
