First Look at NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Founders Edition and Custom Models

The highly anticipated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPUs have made their debut at CES 2024, and we had the opportunity to get a first-hand look at both the Founders Edition and custom variations.

The Founders Edition GPUs from NVIDIA are truly a sight to behold, boasting a sleek and minimalist design that is a result of engineering excellence. The new coolers featured on the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER series share similarities with the existing RTX 40 cards, but they have a unique touch that gives them a stealthy black aesthetic. The silver plate surrounding the graphics card has been given a darker tone, enhancing its overall appeal.

The GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPU retains its triple-slot design with a dual-axial flow-through fan configuration, coupled with a powerful heatsink utilizing vapor chamber technology. The card proudly displays SUPER badges on both the front metallic plate and the backplate, making it easily distinguishable from the Non-SUPER series. Priced at $999 US, it serves as the base model for the 4080 SUPER lineup.

In addition to the Founders Edition, various NVIDIA AIBs (Add-In Board partners) showcased their own versions of the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER. These included popular models such as the ASUS TUF Gaming, MSI Ventus 3X, Colorful iGame Ultra, GALAX SG-1, Gainward Phantom, Gigabyte Windforce 3X, Palit JetStream, ZOTAC Trinity, and Inno3D iChill 3X. Each card offers its own unique cooling system and employs a 3 or 3+ slot design. A notable feature of these custom models is the brand new 12V-2×6 power connectors, capable of providing up to 600W of power.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPU brings significant improvements to the $999 US price point, rivaling the Radeon RX 7900 XTX with superior performance and the world’s fastest G6X memory. Set to launch on January 31st, these GPUs are set to revolutionize the gaming experience. Stay tuned for more updates on NVIDIA’s SUPER family.
