Gatik’s autonomous fleet, which consists of Class 3–7 box trucks, will be equipped with Goodyear Endurance RSA tires featuring Goodyear SightLine technology. This comprehensive tire intelligence solution provides real-time insights on road conditions and tire health, allowing Gatik’s autonomous driving system to adapt swiftly and safely to various driving scenarios.
By utilizing tire intelligence data, Gatik has made significant advancements in its AV controllers. Insights on cornering and braking stiffness, rolling resistance, and tire load have enabled the company to enhance its performance, even when faced with varying truck payloads. This not only ensures the safety and predictability of Gatik’s autonomous vehicles but also maintains high levels of efficiency, reliability, and delivery uptime.
The ongoing testing partnership between Goodyear and Gatik at Goodyear’s San Angelo, Texas, Proving Grounds demonstrates their commitment to continuous improvement. Future plans include incorporating Goodyear’s advanced predictive road condition monitoring solution into Gatik’s autonomous driving system. This integration will enable Gatik to strategically plan its operations, ensuring a consistent and reliable movement of goods for its diverse customer base.
