Woman Arrested for Killing Son to Prevent Husband’s Visit

In a shocking incident, a woman has been arrested for the murder of her 4-year-old son in Goa. The woman, an IT professional named Suchana Seth, was apprehended while attempting to transport her son’s lifeless body in a bag. Investigating the motive behind this heinous act, it has been revealed that her intention was to prevent her husband from meeting their child.

Following their divorce in 2020, the court had granted visitation rights to the husband, allowing him to see their son on Sundays. However, the woman, consumed by fear that her ex-partner would seek custody, devised a sinister plan. She decided to terminate her son’s life before her husband’s scheduled visit, in a desperate bid to prevent their meeting.

The tragic incident occurred just a day before the planned meetup was set to take place. The couple, who got married in 2010 and became parents to their son in 2019, had experienced a fallout that led to a court case and ultimately their divorce. The court had given explicit permission to the father to spend time with his child on Sundays, as confirmed by DGP Goa Jashpal Singh to India Today.

The crime came to light when suspicious hotel staff noticed that the woman had checked in with her son but left the premises alone. Alarmed by their observations, the staff promptly alerted the local police. Subsequently, a taxi driver confirmed that the woman was indeed traveling without her son.

Emergency services were contacted, and the police located and arrested the woman. Upon searching the hotel room, authorities tragically discovered the body of the young boy. The woman is now facing charges of murder and is currently in custody.

This horrifying incident stands as a grim reminder of the depth of despair and tragedy that can engulf troubled relationships, but also highlights the importance of putting the well-being of innocent children first.
