However, the pressure on election workers following the false allegations of widespread election fraud in 2020 has been immense, leading to many quitting their positions.
Additionally, the jurisdictional reach of laws and the timely identification of false information on social media platforms pose further challenges. The responsibility to counter this threat extends to the private sector, the media, and voters themselves. Maintaining the integrity of the democratic process necessitates a collective effort and a commitment to public awareness and skepticism.
As the 2024 presidential election approaches, the risk of AI-generated fake media influencing the outcome looms large. Ensuring that voters are well-informed and capable of discerning truth from manipulation is crucial. It is imperative that technology, regulations, and public awareness evolve to protect free elections from the insidious influence of artificial intelligence.
