NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Challenges AMD RX 7900 XT with Upgraded Specs and Lower Price

According to recent reports, NVIDIA is set to release the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, a powerful graphics card that aims to compete with AMD’s RX 7900 XT. The new GPU boasts significant upgrades, including a new AD103 core and increased memory capacity, making it an enticing option for gaming enthusiasts.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER will be equipped with either the AD103-275 or AD102-175 GPU SKUs, featuring a total of 8,448 cores and 48 MB of L2 cache. In terms of memory, the card will offer 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, representing a 4 GB VRAM increase compared to the non-SUPER version. It will support a 256-bit bus interface and maintain a 285 Watt TGP, similar to its predecessor.

Performance-wise, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is reported to deliver around a 15% increase in gaming performance over the non-SUPER variant, with custom models potentially achieving even greater performance gains. The card is also expected to offer a 2.5x boost when compared to the RTX 3070 Ti with frame-gen enabled, as well as a 60% uplift compared to the same card without frame-gen. Additionally, the GPU’s AI capabilities, particularly with DLSS 3.5, are expected to enhance performance in AI-driven tasks.

One of the most impressive aspects of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is its power efficiency. Despite being rated at 285W, the actual gaming wattage averages around 240W, making it significantly more power-efficient than AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 series.

In terms of pricing and availability, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER will be available on January 24th in custom variants, with prices starting at $799 US. Unlike previous releases, there won’t be a Founders Edition for this card. With its upgraded specs and competitive price point, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER poses a direct challenge to AMD’s RX 7900 XT, offering gamers a powerful and affordable alternative.
