New Nvidia GeForce RTX 40-Series Super Cards Set to Dominate Graphics Card Market

In a strategic move to solidify its dominance in the graphics card market, Nvidia has unveiled a lineup of super-charged desktop GPUs. The highly anticipated Nvidia GeForce RTX 40-series Super cards not only offer superior performance but also come at more attractive price points, giving them a clear advantage over their competitors.

Leading the pack is the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Super, priced at just $999. This puts it in direct competition with the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, which also carries the same price tag but lacks a price cut to match Nvidia’s offering. With its lower price and enhanced specifications, the RTX 4080 Super is poised to be the preferred choice for gamers and professionals alike.

The GeForce RTX 4080 Super boasts a higher core count, elevated clock speeds, and faster GDDR6X memory compared to its predecessor. Utilizing the same AD103 GPU die as the standard RTX 4080, but with the entire die enabled, it offers a modest 5% performance boost paired with improved texture mapping units and ray-tracing cores.

Meanwhile, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super, powered by the AD103 GPU die, delivers similar enhancements in performance. With a 10% increase in CUDA cores, improved raster operations per second (ROPs), and a wider memory interface, it offers substantial value for its $799 price tag.

Not to be overlooked, the non-Ti Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Super offers a significant increase of approximately 22% in shading resources. Although it lacks the faster GDDR6X memory and increased memory capacity of its Super counterparts, it still provides a compelling option for users seeking an affordable yet high-performing graphics card.

Nvidia plans to phase out the non-Super variants of the RTX 4070 and RTX 4080, while reducing the price of the non-Super RTX 4070 to $549. However, without further price cuts, it will be challenging to recommend the non-Super models over their superior counterparts.

The release dates for the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 40-Series Super graphics cards are fast approaching. The RTX 4080 Super is scheduled for launch on January 31, followed by the RTX 4070 Ti Super on January 24 and the RTX 4070 on January 17.

As the market eagerly awaits the arrival of these supercharged GPUs, stay tuned for comprehensive reviews to fully gauge their capabilities and determine the extent of their impact in the ever-evolving world of gaming and graphics.
