New High-End PC Processors Unveiled by AMD at CES 2024

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) made a significant announcement at the CES 2024 tech trade show in Las Vegas, introducing their latest desktop processors for a new category of personal computers known as AI PCs. These Ryzen 8000G Series processors are specifically designed for intensive applications like gaming, content creation, and local AI workloads. This unveiling follows AMD’s previous launch of the Ryzen 8040 Series processors for notebook AI PCs.

AMD’s new processors for AI PCs boast a neural processing unit, allowing for improved performance and efficiency in handling AI tasks. This positions AMD as a leader in the AI hardware revolution, offering the most extensive range of processors with dedicated AI engines in the x86 market, according to Jack Huynh, senior vice president and general manager of AMD’s Computing and Graphics Group.

In response to AMD’s announcement, rival Intel has scheduled an open house at CES 2024 to discuss their strategy for AI PCs, indicating the significance and growing competition in this emerging market.

In addition to the AI PC processors, AMD also introduced the Ryzen 5000 Series processors for mainstream desktop PCs and the Radeon RX 7600 XT graphics card. The graphics card is specifically designed for demanding PC games and content creation purposes.

The Ryzen 8000G Series processors will be available in three models with prices ranging from $179 to $329. The Radeon RX 7600 XT graphics card will cost $329. Consumers can anticipate these products to be available starting January 31st, with the graphics card launching a bit earlier on January 24th.

Following the announcement, AMD stock experienced a rally, with an almost 4% increase in early morning trades. AMD’s position on the IBD Tech Leaders list further solidifies its standing as a tech leader in the market.

Overall, AMD’s unveiling of new processors for AI PCs and other desktop PCs at CES 2024 demonstrates their commitment to meeting the demands of consumers seeking high-performance computing solutions.
