NVIDIA Introduces New RTX 5880 Ada Graphics Card for Workstations and Content Creators

NVIDIA has recently unveiled its latest addition to the Ada graphics card lineup, the RTX 5880 Ada. This graphics card is specifically designed for workstation and content creation purposes, aiming to provide professionals with the features, capabilities, and performance they need to excel in their workflows.

The RTX 5880 Ada is built on the cutting-edge NVIDIA Ada Lovelace GPU architecture. It combines third-generation RT Cores, fourth-generation Tensor Cores, and next-gen CUDA cores to deliver remarkable rendering, graphics, and compute performance. With 48GB of graphics memory, users can expect unparalleled processing power for their demanding tasks.

One notable aspect of the RTX 5880 Ada is its core configuration. It features a cut-down AD102 GPU core with 14,080 CUDA cores and 440 Tensor Cores. Although the core count is lower than its counterpart, the RTX 6000 Ada, it still provides impressive performance. The graphics card operates at approximately 2.5 GHz and offers 69.3 TFLOPs of FP32 compute and 1108 TFLOPs of Tensor performance. While there is a 24% decrease in FP32 and tensor-core performance compared to the RTX 6000 Ada, the RTX 5880 Ada is still a robust option for professionals in need of powerful graphics processing.

In terms of memory, the RTX 5880 Ada retains the same 48GB GDDR6 memory as the RTX 6000 Ada. It operates at speeds of 20 Gbps, enabling up to 960 GB/s of bandwidth. The power consumption of the RTX 5880 Ada is slightly lower than its counterpart, with a decline of 15W (285W) compared to the RTX 6000 Ada’s 300W. The graphics card also features a standard dual-slot, active-cooled design, and includes four DisplayPort 1.4a outputs and triple Encore/Decode Engines.

While pricing details are yet to be disclosed, it is expected that the RTX 5880 Ada will be priced similarly to the RTX 6000 Ada. In the past, NVIDIA has maintained consistent pricing for cut-down designs, similar to the regular models. If this pattern continues, the RTX 5880 Ada will likely be priced around $6800 US, which aligns with the retail MSRP of the RTX 6000 Ada.

Overall, the NVIDIA RTX 5880 Ada graphics card offers a compelling option for professionals in the workstation and content creation fields. Its powerful performance, coupled with NVIDIA’s advanced GPU architecture, positions it as a valuable tool for tackling complex tasks in today’s ultra-challenging business environment.
