New Technologies Key in Enhancing Security: Amit Shah

In a recent address at the 58th DGsP/IGsP Conference in Jaipur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the importance of utilizing advanced technologies to address emerging security challenges in India. Shah emphasized the need to integrate various databases with artificial intelligence-driven analytics in order to effectively combat these challenges.

Shah drew attention to the significant developments taking place in the country, particularly the formulation of a New Education Policy and the enactment of three new criminal laws. He stressed that these new laws prioritize the delivery of justice over punishment, allowing for a more modern and scientific approach to the criminal justice system.

The Union Home Minister also commended the overall improvement in the security scenario since 2014, with a notable reduction in violence in critical areas such as Jammu & Kashmir, the North-East, and regions affected by Left Wing Extremism. He credited the DGsP/IGsP Conference for its role as a “Think Tank,” facilitating decision-making and the formulation of new security strategies.

Shah emphasized the importance of uniformity in structures, size, and skill of counterterrorism mechanisms across the country. This uniformity will be crucial in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of India becoming a developed nation by 2047.

During the conference, a wide range of security-related issues will be deliberated, including the security of borders, cyber threats, radicalization, fraudulent issuance of identity documents, and the emerging threats posed by artificial intelligence. The conference is being held in a hybrid mode, with top police officials attending physically from Jaipur and hundreds of officers participating through video conferencing from various locations across the country.

In conclusion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stressed the significance of adopting new technologies and leveraging data analysis to enhance security measures in India. By embracing advanced tools, the nation can effectively address emerging security challenges and work towards a safer future.
