Ex-Google UX Designer Shares Concerns Over Company’s AI Projects

A former Google UX designer has articulated concerns regarding the company’s artificial intelligence initiatives. Scott Jenson, who parted ways with Google in March, suggested that a form of panic was a driving force behind the AI projects, implying there was a belief that simply due to their AI nature, all projects would be exceptional.

Jenson clarified in an update to his original post that his role at Google was not of a senior executive and that the scope of his projects was limited. He expressed a broader frustration within the industry regarding the approach towards AI.

Jenson illustrated a vision where smartphones would possess an AI assistant akin to the likes of Tony Stark’s Jarvis, locking users into an ecosystem from which they could not easily transition.
