Mark Ruffalo Apologizes for Sharing Fake Photos of Trump on Epstein’s Plane, Points Finger at X Platform

Mark Ruffalo, the actor known for his role in “Avengers,” recently made a public apology after sharing fabricated photos of former President Donald Trump supposedly surrounded by young girls on late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s plane. Ruffalo initially blamed disinformation on Elon Musk’s X platform for the incident.

Ruffalo’s social media post drew the attention of X users who noticed discrepancies in the photos, such as a blurred jacket, a missing arm, and distorted shadows. Later on, he admitted his mistake and called out Elon Musk, the CEO of X, for allowing fake content to circulate on the platform.

Referring to the incident as “AI fakes,” Ruffalo cautioned users to be careful about the disinformation on X and suggested that Musk’s failure to regulate such content had caused a decrease in the value of his app.

Elon Musk responded indirectly to the mistake, subtly acknowledging it through his replies to other users. In one response, Musk stated that Ruffalo was not good at internalizing responsibility.

It’s important to note that while Trump’s name had been redacted from court documents in a lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former accomplice, he was not accused of any wrongdoing. Other prominent figures, such as President Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew, were also mentioned in the documents without facing any allegations.

Mark Ruffalo’s apology comes after his track record of being outspoken on various political and social issues, including climate change, the Capitol riot of Jan. 6, 2021, and capitalism. Ruffalo has previously criticized Trump as “public enemy number one” in regards to climate change and joined other celebrities in calling for the removal of the 45th president from office after the Capitol riot.

This incident serves as a reminder to approach digital content with caution and to verify information from reliable sources before sharing it on social media platforms.
