Blue Dynamic Emerges Victorious in National AI Intelligence Competition

Blue Dynamic, an outstanding team from the High School for the Gifted under the National University of Ho Chi Minh City, has clinched the top spot in the nationwide final round, securing a spot as one of the two representatives from Vietnam in the upcoming International AI Olympics (IOAI). Led by Associate Professor Nguyen Hai Dang from the University of Natural Sciences, the team comprises three students: Nguyen Duc Anh Khoa (12th-grade), Nguyen Tuan Hung (11th-grade), and Ta Hau Viet Long (10th-grade).

During the national finals, Blue Dynamic, together with five other teams from across the country, delved into scientific research and experiments to develop and evaluate AI models in three categories: image processing (drug classification problem), natural language processing (medical text summarization), and machine learning (fine dust index prediction). Impressively, Blue Dynamic scored 9.53 out of 10 points, sharing the top prize with AMS-1 team from Hanoi Amsterdam High School.

Team captain Nguyen Tuan Hung expressed, “I am deeply impressed by the professionalism of IOAI Vietnam, from the organization to the test preparation. It is a valuable platform that allows us to experience, innovate, and pursue our passion for AI. In the upcoming international competition, our team is committed to giving our best effort and aims to achieve excellent results for the Vietnamese delegation.”

The IOAI is an international competition designed for high school students with a passion for exploring AI. In 2024, Vietnam will participate in this prestigious event for the first time.
