Wrongdoers can easily harvest user data openly shared on social media or through deceptive tactics like online job interviews. BShield’s simulations showcased how a fraudster could insert an existing face from a video call onto a fake ID, merge it with a functioning body to deceive eKYC systems, and then get recognized as a real person.

From a user perspective, IT specialist Nguyễn Thành Trung from Ho Chi Minh City voices his concerns about the ease with which malign actors can exploit AI like chatGPT to generate phishing emails mimicking legitimate communication from banks or reputable entities, at times containing malicious software attachments poised to compromise the unwary clicker.
